Grab the keys to your flying car because the future is here!
Techies may get a kick out of the new coffee machine that currently has the internet “ooh and aahing,” while some of us will be shaking our fists in frustration at the mere thought of having to explain “what button to press” to our parents.
Nevertheless, we’re pretty pumped about entering the latest Black Mirror episode thanks to Lavazza’s launch of the world’s first coffee machine with Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant built-in. Gone are the days when you’d need to use your hands to make your own delicious cup of espresso, now all you’ll need to do is say one simple phrase: “Alexa, make me an espresso.”
Perhaps this is the latest instalment of Harry Potter because this is magical!
All jokes aside, The A Modo Mio Voicy is the first of its kind but is currently only available in the UK and Europe, reports IOL. It boasts all of the Alexa functions too, and you’ll be able to get your morning weather, traffic, send messages, and play your favourite music all while brewing a delicious cuppa.
Even more incredible is the fact that you can personalise things like your espresso size and temperature in the app, and you can save family and friends preferences too! No buttons, and perhaps no early morning phone calls from your parents.
The director for Amazon Alexa Europe had this to say about the monumental product:
“We are convinced that Voicy is the right product to delight our customers with a fantastic experience: top-quality Lavazza coffee plus the thousands of functions provided by Alexa, all in the same beautifully designed and technologically innovative device.”
So just how much will the future set you back? Well, the machine will cost £249 or approximately R5000. However, Lavazza is currently offering a subscription at £50 (R1000) alongside their capsule subscription.
