The City of Cape Town (COCT) says the waste collection service that was supposedly scheduled for areas in the South on Monday,14 February have been suspended.
According to the COCT, the contractor who is servicing the area is experiencing a vehicle shortage, however, residents are advised to put out their bins again on Tuesday.
“The affected areas are Simon’s Town, Cape Point Trade, Capri, Sunnydale East, Fairie Knowe, Noordhoek, Longbeach Village, Fish Hoek Beach, Clovelly, Kalkbay, St James, Muizenberg and Lake Michelle,” The COCT said.

The City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Waste Management, Grant Twigg further indicated that the COCT is currently putting a contingency plan in place to ensure a service is rendered this week.
“Unfortunately, this will not be possible today. The City, unfortunately, does not have sufficient capacity to assist the contractor which services the area,” Twigg, explained.
