This year, the Western Cape Blood Service collected an impressive 12 926 units of blood from 103 high schools in the province.

In total, the service received 3 771 donations from hospitals, 15 114 from corporates, 16 282 from the educational sector, and 54 077 from donations collected at shopping malls.

These are the top 10 high schools who donated blood this year:
- Outeniqua High – 370 units with 108 new donors
- Protea Heights Academy – 318 units
- Worcester Gimnasium – 276 units
- Fish Hoek High – 264 units
- Emil Weder High School – 249 units
- HTS Drosdy – 246 units
- Settlers High School – 234 units
- Bergvliet High – 233 units
- Langenhoven Gimnasium – 218 units
- George High School – 194 units
‘This year, we collected an impressive 12,926 units of blood from 103 from the high schools who hosted blood donation clinics in the Western Cape.
