The Western Cape has 3172 active cases of COVID-19 as of 1pm on Monday, March 8. The province’s total number of COVID-19 infections has now reached 276 528 confirmed cases and 262 106  recoveries. This indicates a 94.78 percent recovery rate.

A total of 17 568 vaccines had been administered by 5pm, March 5, according to Premier Alan Winde. This is 2 273 more than those recorded on March 3.

“The Western Cape has recorded 6 additional deaths, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the province to 11 289. We send our condolences to their loved ones at this time,” Winde said.
