The HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series (SVNS) in Cape Town culminated in a victory for the Argentina men’s and Australia women’s teams.
Argentina’s Los Pumas 7’s delivered a 45-12 win against Australia, and Australia’s Aussie 7’s edged out France with a 29-26 win.

The celebrations took an unexpected turn when members of both victorious teams leapt into one of the venue’s ‘fanstand’ swimming pools.
This spontaneous act of jubilation, however, resulted in the pool’s collapse, leading to a spillage of 200 litres of water.
This year’s HSBC SVNS finals will be remembered not just for the athletic performances but also for the memorable, albeit unusual, conclusion to the celebrations.
