Bali is rated as one of the best travel destinations in the world, and if you’ve been throwing pennies into the wishing well, and keeping your fingers crossed then you’ll be glad to know that your wish has come true!
After virtually seeing no tourism in 2021 as a result of strict travel restrictions, the famous tourist destination will now reopen to all international travellers from 4 February 2022, according to the coordinating minister for maritime affairs and investment, Luhut Pandjaitan.
Pandjaitan said that the quarantine period required for fully vaccinated travellers into Indonesia has been reduced from seven to five days, The Washington Post reports.
This announcement comes despite an uptick in Indonesia’s COVID-19 cases, which health authorities have attributed to Omicron, even though outbreaks were brought under control in the second half of last year, Reuters adds.
Singapore Airlines will also start flying directly to Bali International Airport (DPS) from 16 February.
