‘Cape Town’s unique biodiversity is integral to our natural heritage, and at our nature reserves, residents can fully enjoy and appreciate the beauty of our scenic surroundings. From the smallest animal to birds, flowers and insects are on display when you slow down and take a closer look,’ said the City’s deputy mayor and mayoral committee member for spatial planning and environment, Alderman Eddie Andrews.
He added, ‘Go, take a relaxing walk, or have a picnic, and celebrate Heritage Day Cape Town style; hopefully, the weather will play along this weekend.’
These nature reserves stand as bastions of protection and conservation for Cape Town’s natural treasures and biodiversity. Beyond their preservation role, they also offer many recreational and educational activities for visitors to indulge in.
