Members of the Kuilsriver Crime Prevention Unit arrested three suspects in the early hours of Thursday morning, 2 May for possessing a hijacked vehicle and imitation firearm, according to a recently released SAPS media statement.
Members attached to the unit were responding to a complaint of a shooting in progress in Riverside Gardens, Kuilsriver, and while on their way to the complaint, they saw a white Nissan Sentra colliding with a traffic light.

This was on the corner of Nooiensfontein Road and Chapel Street.
The occupants of the vehicle jumped out of the vehicle and attempted to flee from the scene but were subsequently apprehended by the police members on the scene.
Upon searching the vehicle, an imitation firearm was discovered in the vehicle.
After further investigations were conducted, it was revealed that the vehicle had previously been hijacked in Kuilsriver the day before.
The suspects aged 21, 31 and 35 were arrested for the possession of an imitation firearm and the possession of a hijacked vehicle, and are due to appear in the Blue Downs Magistrates’ Court once they have been charged.
