The younger brother of alleged 28s gang boss Ralph Stanfield was arrested after police found more than R4.6 million stashed in a Claremont flat, allegedly for his brother.
Kyle Lee Stanfield (34) allegedly received instructions from Ralph, who is currently being held in Brandvlei Prison, to remove items police had planned to seize in a raid, as reported by IOL.

Kyle was arrested on Monday, 29 April after Western Cape SAPS teams conducted ‘protracted investigations into the scourge of organised crime’, and descended upon the Claremont premises, according to a SAPS media statement.
This was also revealed shortly before he appeared in the Bellville Magistrates’ Court on a single charge of defeating the ends of justice.
Court documents also stated that he was acting on instructions from Ralph.
Along with confiscated cash to the value of R4.6 million, expensive watches and empty 9mm pistol cases were also found on the premises, according to Novela Potelwa, police spokesperson.
‘The investigation continues in efforts to determine the origins of the money and items seized,’ said Potelwa.
The document also stated that Kyle went to the premises of PPE Security in Airport Industria, after ‘receiving information of a planned search-and-seizure’ at the property on Friday, 19 April.
Kyle was remanded in custody and will return to court on Monday for a formal bail hearing.
