The Place of Dreams (POD) Easter music and wellness festival will take place from 14 to 19 April and is set to be a life-changing experience, jam-packed with incredible spaces and performances, luxurious accommodation options and unbeatable scenery in the dreamlike landscape of the Tankwa Karoo.

Place of Dreams (POD) is perfectly positioned in the Karoo wilderness with vast amounts of space to move and groove. It’s a world-class festival setting that offers far more than just music and dance.
The event runs over five days from 14 to 19 April and is set to be a life-changing experience, with an amazing DJ line-up, secret sunrise opening ceremony, a silent disco, a party bus and dance canyon, psychedelic theatre performances and visual mapping, a yoga pavilion, an infinity dam, and lots of food and drink. If you love being outdoors and enjoy hiking, mountain biking or trail running, you will be in heaven in this space.
Let’s take a closer look at some offerings at the POD Easter Festival.
The party canyon:
This beautiful, million-year old canyon with calcified stone formations provides a surreal space for the POD community to participate and enjoy live music, psychedelic theatre performances and light shows. This amphitheatre has been hewn from the surrounding rock, and can accommodate around 500 plus people.
The amphitheatre and surrounds contain a large natural stone dam, a stone bar, a stone dance floor, and a stage for DJs, musicians, actors and other live performers. The large dance floor and stage are flanked by terraced platforms and a natural swimming pool, fed by an ancient waterfall from the cliffs above. This rocky canyon also serves as the canvas for the visual mapping, done by Shacido, and the entire area is serviced by a solar system and backup 50KVA generator, supplying power throughout.
The Yoga Pavilion:
The yoga pavilion and labyrinth, is situated at the entrance to the walkway towards the Gratitude Canyon. The POD yoga community can enjoy the labyrinth and walk through the Torri gate to the Gratitude canyon.
Party bus:
The party bus is a dreamy installation that features designer finishes including blue velvet seating and baroque decor inside.
The dramatic canyon contrasts the intricate chandeliers, velvet curtains and authentic wooden bar. A delight for the senses.
The Infinity dam:
This is the POD Community’s place to swim and relax in the cool water, equipped with a manmade “beach” area, perfect for relaxation and recalibration after a long night of dancing in the canyon. The spectacular view is uninterrupted and the sunsets are unparalleled.
Gratitude canyon:
This beautiful, quiet sanctuary is accessible from the Yoga pavilion and is the perfect spot to take a moment to recharge the mind, body and soul before the day’s festivities.
Art walk:
POD Art manages and facilitates artist work placed along the river bed ART WALK that runs between the accommodation area and the canyon amphitheatre.
