A truck carrying empty glass bottles has overturned on the N1 outside Worcester. It lost its cargo and collided with another vehicle, killing the driver instantly.

According to Ismail’s Towing, a towing and recovery service from Worcester, it appears that the truck was en route to Worcester and the passenger vehicle was heading in the direction of Paarl when they collided about 10 kilometres outside Worcester. It is unclear what exactly led to the accident.
At the time of publication, the road between Worcester and Cape Town is closed to traffic from both sides. Drivers are advised to take a detour via Rawsonville.
