Jo-Ash Rajcoomar, the owner and creative director of Howling Media, emerged as the overall winner during the Sony Creators Convention 2024, securing a Sony ZV-E10 camera and an opportunity for collaboration with Sony.

Rajcoomar, emphasising the importance of education in the content creation industry during his pitch, highlighted how the partnership with Sony would focus on helping creatives understand the business aspects, solve problems for clients, and contribute to the economy.
‘I did not expect to win at all; there were a lot of great pitches out there, and hats off to everyone who put themselves out there and jumped on the opportunity. I’m just happy that my message around the importance of education came across,’ he said.

The convention, which celebrated creativity and innovation, featured speakers like filmmakers and Sony Alpha Ambassadors, including Ofentse Mwase on storytelling, Mike Eloff on travel photography and collaborations, and Carlinn Meyer discussing content creation. The line-up aimed to inspire and inform attendees.
Throughout the day, participants immersed themselves in workshops and practical sessions tailored to their interests and skill levels, covering topics from brand collaborations to the art of crafting viral content in Africa. The sessions provided practical tips and strategies to elevate attendees’ skills.
The convention also served as a networking and collaboration platform, featuring leading brands like Suzuki, Alpha Universe, G Master, Nanlite, and NiSi showcasing their latest products and innovations.
