As per EWN, the search was paused following an increase in the spread of false information about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
‘When you make a false accusation or you spread a false rumour, the SAPS investigates every single clue,’ says Saldanha Bay councillor Theresa Le Roux-Rossouw. ‘So, they are going to going to go out and investigate every one of those rumours.’
As a result, Joshlin’s mother and her boyfriend, Jacquin Appolis, have been moved to a place of safety.
Gayton Mckenzie, president of the Patriotic Alliance, spoke with her mother earlier today.
Watch:
The young girl disappeared from a shack where she was left in the care of Appolis eight days ago. Appolis recently told Briefly that although he does not know what happened to Joshlin, he feels responsible for her disappearance.
Joshlin was reported missing on Tuesday, 20 February 2024. Rewards totalling more than R100 000 have been offered to anyone with information on her whereabouts.
