CapeNature has released updated regulations in line with the appropriate COVID-19-related measures to curb the spread of the virus.

CapeNature picnic areas and hiking trails will remain open during Alert Level 1, while access to Robberg and Goukamma nature reserve beaches will temporarily close from Wednesday, December 16 until further notice. The closure excludes access to fishermen, with a valid fishing permit.

In addition, picnic and day visitor facilities will operate at a reduced carrying capacity. CapeNature beaches outside of the Garden Route will have a strict opening time of 9am and closing time of 6pm in line with the aforementioned amended regulations.

CapeNature will also implement ad hoc daily patrols and check points in partnership with local municipalities and law enforcement.

“The safety of our visitors and staff remains paramount. All visitors entering a controlled CapeNature reserve entrance gate will be subjected to a screening process upon arrival. Your continued support in complying with the national regulations and guidelines is much appreciated,” CapeNature said in a statement.
