Eight people had to be hospitalised following an incident where a vehicle crashed into Mediclinic Cape Gate Hospital on Tuesday.
The hospital refrained from speculating on the incident’s cause or the driver’s condition but expressed gratitude to the responsive staff for their prompt actions.

According to Mediclinic, as reported by News24, the car crashed into the hospital’s cafeteria entrance, resulting in injuries to two staff members, the driver, a passenger and some bystanders.
Mediclinic also announced its commitment to providing emotional trauma counselling to those affected by the incident.
Western Cape police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk reported that authorities in Brackenfell were investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash where a female driver lost control of the vehicle. The passenger involved was identified as her husband.
‘Circumstances surrounding an accident this afternoon where a motorist lost control of her vehicle and went through the window of a hospital in Brackenfell are under investigation.’
‘Police registered an accident report. The adult lady and her husband were treated at the hospital,’ added Van Wyk.
