A drone was launched to inspect the damage of the area and search for any injured wildlife.
Unfortunately, injured baboons were spotted and darting them proved difficult in today’s rainy weather.
The team has been tracking the the troop since yesterday, 17 January, in order to assess and treat the animals worst injured.
Despite the weather and challenging landscape, the Cape of Good Hope SPCA along with local land owners are committed to helping all animals effected by the fire.

We at Cape {town} Etc would like to thank and commend the incredible men and women who work so hard to keep our wildlife safe, and those brave firefighters who worked tirelessly to contain the blaze.
