TV personality, Katlego Maboe, was absolved by the Magistrates Court against allegations of alleged misconduct made by his former partner, Monique Muller.
In 2020, the brother of Maboe’s partner alleged that Maboe abused his sister and opened a domestic violence case against him. However, Maboe denied the allegations, saying that he “will always stand up against abuse of women and children”.
In a video shared to Twitter, Maboe’s wife confronted him about his infidelity and coerced a confession out of him. The presenter admitted to having an affair and named the woman he cheated with. Nikita Murray, the woman accused of having an affair with Maboe, then released a statement detailing her side of the story.

In a series of Instagram stories, the brother of Maboe’s partner alleged that the host gave his sister a sexually-transmitted infection that has led to damage in her womb, and that this will affect her chances of having a child.
Now, Maboe’s publicist, Lerato Maleswena, released a statement explaining that Maboe has “maintained his innocence throughout the two-year ordeal.”

“The Court agreed with the submission of a Point in Limine from Mr Maboe’s legal team, ruling that there were no grounds for obtaining the protection order. Furthermore, the court has not made a finding of acts of domestic violence that were allegedly perpetrated against Ms Muller, and as such, the matter has been dismissed,” the statement read.
This was described as a “great victory” for Maboe after the allegations surfaced in 2020. He is reported to have “suffered devastating reputational damage, resulting in a loss of professional livelihood,” as per the statement.
This includes the cancellation of his contract with OUTsurance and a suspension from his long-term contract with SABC 3’s Expresso Morning Show.

“The most important thing to me is the wellbeing of my son, and fortunately things have settled into a routine for him after being put through such a terrible and lengthy process. I am so grateful to my friends and family, and my incredible team for their ongoing support, and to be the justice system for ruling in favour of the truth.
“I may never know or understand the real motive behind all of this destruction and heartache, but right now, I just want to focus on putting the pieces of my life back together,” Maboe expressed.
