Police in the Western Cape have launched a manhunt after two teenagers were fatally shot in Waterway informal settlement, in Eerste Rivier, on Saturday morning.

Two counts of murder have been registered, according to Western Cape SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Wesley Twigg, after the Mfuleni police were called to the scene where they found the bodies of a 15 and 17-year-old, at around 1am.
‘The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.’ Twigg told News24 ‘The suspect (is) yet to be arrested.’
According to Twigg, the motive for the attack is yet to be established.

Meanwhile on Friday in Hanover Park, the body of a 34-year-old man was found on Downburg Road.
Police said the victim sustained gunshot wounds to the chest.
‘The victim sustained gunshot wounds to his chest and was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel,’ said Twigg.
Philippi police have registered a murder case.
‘The motive for the attack is gang-related. The suspects fled the scene and are yet to be arrested,’ Twigg said.

In an unrelated incident,
Two men were arrested by Hermanus police at an address in Tsandu, Zwelihlie, on Thursday.
‘Members followed up information and searched the premises and found a .38 special revolver without a serial number and ammunition, an imitation firearm, 59 bankies of dagga and 45 ecstasy tablets and an undisclosed amount of cash in the house.’
‘The suspects were arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and the possession of drugs.’
They will appear in the Hermanus Magistrates court on Monday on the mentioned charges.
