Routine zero-pressure testing is due to take place in the coming week.
Areas to be affected are Claremont, Pinehurst and Kraaifontein and the work will take place during the night.
The City of Cape Town Water and Sanitation Directorate advised yesterday.
Acting mayoral committee member, Siseko Mbandezi, said: ‘Zero-pressure testing is part of the installation process for pressure management technology.”
“Tests are done to see if any unmapped inflows need to be considered before installing smart pressure-reducing valves.”
Residents can expect to have low-pressure or no water while maintenance takes place.
Claremont can look forward to water outages
- Monday, 24 October, from 10pm until 4am
- Tuesday, 25 October from 10pm until 4am
Pinehurst can expect no water
- Wednesday, 26 October, from 10pm until 4am
- Thursday, October 27, from 10pm until 4am
The city is yet to share Kraaifontein‘s maintenance schedule.
“Careful consideration has been given to the planning of this work to ensure it is being done at a time that is least disruptive to the water supply,” said Mbandezi.
