Every year, the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) is sent to the Cape coast to assist swimmers who have been carried away by rip currents. Sometimes their crews can save a life; other times, they must report the tragic news of a drowning.
The NSRI published a video of a 10-year-old caught in a rip current this week, showing how only the observant Beach Safety Camera operator was able to detect him at a crowded beach and save his life.
The clip ends with the following message:
“Please always watch your loved ones near any body of water.”
