The man allegedly responsible for the death of 18-year-old, Tatum Hendricks, was granted bail in the Bishop Lavis Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday
The Bonteheuwel matriculant died in hospital after she was hit by an apparently drunk and unlicensed driver in Bonteheuwel’s Bluegum Avenue on Sunday.
The fatal incident saw the driver’s vehicle plough into two properties after hitting Hendricks and another pedestrian.

The 32-year-old accused made his first appearance on charges of reckless and negligent driving and culpable homicide.
He was granted bail of R5000, which was reduced to R3000, on certain conditions.
These include that the accused does not enter Bonteheuwel and Valhalla Park and must live at an alternative address.
The matter was postponed to February for further investigation.
