A man who used a pizza box to disguise a laptop he stole from the four-star Forty 8 Backpackers in Hout Street was arrested yesterday.

According to the Cape Town Central City Improvement District (CCID), a receptionist at the accommodation venue asked a CCID Public Safety Officer (PSO) for help at around 4:13am on Monday morning.
The suspect was apprehended while trying to leave the premises with the laptop and its charger, which belonged to one of the tenants, hidden inside a pizza box.

‘Moments later, the suspect was taken to Cape Town Central Station by two SAPS members who responded as back-up and arrested for theft after the complainant agreed to open a case.’
