On Monday morning, a gunman wielding two firearms shot and killed a 41-year-old woman while she was sitting in her car in the parking lot of a municipal building in Strand, Cape Town.
As per TimesLive, police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk reported that the victim, who was in a silver Toyota Fortuner, was targeted at approximately 8:15am.

Eyewitnesses reported that the assailant approached the vehicle on foot, firing multiple shots through the driver’s side window.
Following the attack, the gunman walked away, entered a white Opel Astra and fled the scene.
Emergency medical personnel declared the woman deceased at the scene.
Captain van Wyk confirmed that the motive for the shooting is still under investigation.
Following the incident, Councillor Chantal Cerfontein issued a statement announcing the closure of the municipal building for the rest of the day.
She urged tenants to leave the premises and advised the public to steer clear of the area, which is now an active crime scene.
Councillor Cerfontein assured that operations at the Strand municipal building would resume on Tuesday, 9 January.
